I have several of Tabackin's 70s/80s albums, and saw him play with Freddie Hubbard in '83, so he did have a soloist career of sorts in that time, but as you say he did get swept away a bit in the 90s. It's good to see that he's getting more profile these days - he's a great player.

Nice article- Lew is SUPER bad. Is it a pickup band if Lew has been playing with Bill Goodwin since the 60s and Phil Palombi since the 90s?
